Awash
(with/in) (adj) 被海水沖刷的, 被水覆蓋的; 充斥的,泛濫的 having too much; covered with water.
Example. TV is awash with ADs.

Awe (n)
敬畏;畏怯 a feeling of great respect for someone or something. Example. We were in awe of our
father.awed (adj) an awed silence. awe-inspiring (adj) 令人起敬畏心的;令人驚嘆的 impressive;
imposing; dazzling; breathtaking; majestic. Example. David made an awe-inspiring achievement.

Awesome (adj)
令人敬畏的;可怕的;有威嚴的 very impressive, difficult, serious; extremely good. Example: It is an
awesome responsibility. That movie was awesome!

Awful (adj)
可怕的,嚇人的, 極壞的,極糟的 very bad. Example: It is an awful movie. This bread tastes awful!

Awestruck (adj)
震驚的,頓生敬畏的,驚奇不已的 feeling great awe. Example: We gazed awestruck at the Great Wall.

Awhile (adv)
片刻;少頃 for a short time Example: Tim needed to be alone for awhile, after he was fired from his
company

Awkward (adj)
笨拙的;不熟練的, 不合適的;尷尬的 embarrassing; clumsy, gawky, inelegant. Examples: His
speech puts us in an awkward position. For a few moments there was an awkward silence. Time is
an awkward teenager.

Awning (n)
涼篷,雨篷, 天篷 a sheet used to cover a store, tent, etc. for protection from the sun or the rain.

Awry (adj)
曲,歪,斜,扭, 錯 Away from the correct course; twisted toward one side. Tim's carefully laid plans
had already gone awry. Tim's shirt was awry and looked silly with his silk necktie.
